Hurricane Service Advisory
With Hurricane Earl approaching the metropolitan area, the MTA is preparing for any service-related issues that may arise from the storm. We are closely monitoring the storm and will work hard to ensure that customers get where they need to go safely.
ALERT: MTA Long Island Rail Road will suspend service on Friday to the East End of Long Island for safety reasons as forecasters are calling for Hurricane Earl to bring sustained winds of 40 mph (with gusts of up to 60 mph), heavy rains and possible flooding.
Customers should continue to check this site for more details about current service information by consulting the "Current Service Status" box (at left) clicking on MTA Agency Service Advisories (below); signing up for MTA e-mail or text message service alerts, or; tuning in to local radio or television news for the latest service information before starting a trip (see links at left).
