Driving directions to reach the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel connecting lower Manhattan and Brooklyn:

From Manhattan: Passenger cars (no commercial vehicles) may use the FDR Drive southbound to West Street. All vehicles may use the West Street entrance to the Tunnel.

From Brooklyn: All vehicles may use the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (Route 278) to Hamilton Avenue and follow local street signs to the Tunnel. All vehicles may use the Gowanus Expressway (Route 278) or the Prospect Expressway directly to the Tunnel.
