The experience

Just 70 miles north of the city in Patterson, New York, Thunder Ridge Ski Area's scenic slopes are perfect for all levels of skiers and snowboarders, from beginner to expert. There are slow and gentle trails, as well as advanced trails to challenge the daring and adventurous! Go for the day, or spend the weekend (see below for overnight package details).

The deal


  • On sale December 5: ADMISSION FOR DAY: Discount all-day/all-night lift ticket (night skiing not available on Sundays); free shuttle to/from the train station to the ski area; $5 discount on rental equipment: adults, $33.50; seniors/children 6-12, $21.50; children age 5 and under, $8.50.
  • RAIL FARE: Discount round-trip rail fare from your boarding station

OVERNIGHT "SKI AND STAY" PACKAGE INCLUDES: Room rates starting as low as $99 for up to four people at participating hotels, including free transportation to and from the ski area! Special values such as complimentary breakfast, indoor pool, fitness centers, restaurants and nightclubs, kitchenettes, transportation to area shopping and even pet friendly accommodations!

When you arrive at Thunder Ridge on Saturday, go to the ticket booth, mention the "Ski and Stay" package, and store your bags while you ski. At 6 p.m., a FREE shuttle will take you to the hotel, and it will bring you back at 9 a.m. Sunday morning for your second day of skiing (at an additional cost of $25 paid at Thunder Ridge). Also available at many hotels during Christmas Week, Martin Luther King Monday and President's Week!
