Weekday AM Peak New Haven Line Platform Changes, March 15-May 7
Inbound (to Grand Central) New Haven Line AM Peak trains will operate on outbound tracks (to Stamford and New Haven) between Old Greenwich and Rye from Monday, March 15, through Friday, May 7.
This is to accommodate concrete tie installation between Stamford and Port Chester.
The affected trains depart Stamford for Grand Central on weekdays between 4:43 AM-10:13 AM.
Outbound (to New Haven and Stamford) AM Reverse-Peak trains departing Grand Central between 5:35 AM and 9:38 AM will use the inbound (to Grand Central) platforms at these stations.
Tie installation will occur in two phases. The tie installation schedule is as follows:
● Rye, Port Chester, and Greenwich opposite-side boarding will occur from March 15-April 23, reverting back to regular-side platform boarding on April 26.
● Cos Cob, Riverside, and Old Greenwich opposite-side boarding will run from March 15-May 7, reverting back to regular-side platform boarding on May 10.
At all other times during the day, and at all times on weekends, trains will arrive on their regular platforms.
Please note: During the duration of this project, trains operating on the inbound platforms will be using bridge plates for boarding and detraining.
Customers are advised to use caution when getting on and off trains and to listen for on-board and station announcements about last-minute track changes.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we conduct this concrete tie installation project.

New Entrance to Grand Central North Under Construction
Due to construction of a new street entrance to the underground corridors serving Grand Central Terminal on the south side of 47th Street midway between Park and Lexington Avenues, there will be no access to Grand Central North’s 47th Street cross passage from the Track 11 and 13 platform. All other access to the cross passageway will be unaffected. This project is expected to take 20 months to complete.
Construction is being done as part of MTA Long Island Rail Road’s (LIRR) East Side Access (ESA) project, which will bring LIRR commuters from Long Island and Eastern Queens to the east side of Manhattan in a new concourse being built under Grand Central Terminal.
